good afternoon blogosphere

Slept late today. Feeling pretty good. My main blog entries during the weekend were one-liners. Then again I spent most of my weekend purging my apartment. As I tap away I'm already making mental lists of everything that will go out next Sunday. During this week I will be tackling excess paper. Believe me there's the equivalent of a might oak lying around my place. Ciao for now.

from a corner in Barnes & Nobles...

Actually found a vacant chair. I leafed through a copy of US or People, just to catch who's who these days. It's a lost cause; the majority of celebs are simply not worth the time. But still every six months or so I feel compelled to read a bit of gossip.

Had a delightful solo lunch and am now trying to decide whether or not to see The Happening. Wish it hadn't rained a photostroll would have been nice.

I am sitting next to the As Seen On Oprah books. Gung Ho! Turn on the people in any organization The On-Time, On-Target Manager GO put your strengths to work

Are you feeling motivated yet?

I'm actually getting just a little too comfy in this chair.

Time to motor. Smooches.

photo score

As I was walking along Broadway this morning I spotted a truck with a really funny name and graphic.

I literally ran into traffic to get the shots. It should be up at blogjem as soon as I can get myself in front of a computer.

Right now I'm on the uptown which has surfaced just enough for me to send this.

Bye

buenos dias from the 1

There's a group of Spanish speaking high school kids aboard the train this morning, and they definitely seem excited about their destination. As I remember field trips could be fun.

I was thinking of rewriting a very short piece I posted at blogforth yesterday. Thought it might be cool to leave the original up and link them.

Here's my stop gotta motor.

Have a groovy day.

where's everybody going?

The uptown 1 is pretty crowded today. Not so much that I couldn't get a seat, but enough. Just came from the post office, the bank sent me a new debit card. It's one of those blinky tap kinds. I already have visions of some tapping and blinking his way through my checking account. You can be sure I am going to be very careful with it. Some verse is banging around in my head, and a bit of a short story. If I can find a few minutes I'm going to post to my writing blog. Ciao for now.

RE: our online society...

I think every waiting room should have computers with DSL available. Magazines just don't cut it anymore. Last night Heart and I went to visit the 24 hour Mac store. We both buy PC, but agree Macs are real eye candy. The Mac Air is practically paper thin. We also discovered that all the machines on display are online. There are tons of tourists reading and responding to e-mail. Who doesn't love a freebie? Enjoy your life my friends.

off to meet Heart...

for a day of New York good times. It will be so good to sit down for our first face to face conversation in nearly two years.

We always pick up right where we left off.

On a more somber note one of my favorite comedians has left this plane of existence.

Even though George Calin often said he didn't believe in God, I just know that he's going to be playing a great gig in the afterlife.

George you made me laugh till I cried. I will miss you. The whole wide world will miss you.

Love and kisses,
Frances

Happy first day of summer

or at least I think it is. Well if it's tomorrow then just take this as my early best wishes for a fabulous summer. How are you all doing? I'm feeling pretty good considering it's barely 9:30 and I'm already well into a trip to North Jersey. As you know Heart will be arriving in New York for a very short stay, and we will be able to sit and have our first face to face conversation in over a year and a half. Said conversation and fabulous meal surely to be followed by a photostroll. I'll definitely shot a few with my phone and send them here. Speaking of here I have about a bazillion photos to dd to the album. Ciao for now.

glad tidings via e-mail

Heart will be coming to New York for a couple of days. It's was such a cool surprise to find an e-mail yesterday telling me he would be here Sunday. We haven't hung out in over a year and a half.
Stay tuned.

on line as in on line

There's an IKEA opening up in New York this week.

They're giving a free sofa to the first 35 customers. People are camped out like it's concert tickets for over a day now. They were being interviewed on NY1 News this morning. I tried to imagine myself doing such a thing.

Actually when I was kid I used to love to see movies the night they opened.

In the old days you didn't buy tickets online or at a mahine hours or days in advance; you actually stood on line to buy them. On line as in feet on a sidwalk. And check this out - you could only buy for the net show. Next show tickets might not be sold till 15 minutes before start time.

I've read entire books standing online. That would be a geat post for a Thursday Thirteen - Movies I've Stood In Line For Ciao for now.
